The Poet Who Inspired John & Robert Kennedy
On October 26, 1963 at Amherst College in Massachusetts, the memory of one of America’s greatest poets was honored with these eloquent words,
“When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man’s concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of his existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.”
The poet, himself once wrote, “A poem begins in delight and ends in wisdom.” He was Robert Frost. And, his honoring admirer was John F. Kennedy.
With each day comes an opportunity to write our own poem of existence. Each breath, a word; each smile a rhyme.
What prose will you write with this day?
