“Someone on the other side of the world was hurting inside and somehow they found me.”

That is how I felt one night when I read the words that someone had Googled in search of comfort. My inspire-tainment site, SonnyRadio.com was created to help visitors from around the world, “Feel Better About Being Alive!” Log on and you’ll find content that is amazing, amusing, inspirational, and informational. It’s a site you can enjoy with your parents and children with an emphasis on what is right in the world.

Our “back office” software allows us to see statistics like the number of visitors, where they came from, and how they found us. One of these features shows those who arrived through Google and what exact words they entered in the search window.

What got my attention on a recent search were the capitalized words, “HOW FEEL BETTER IN LIFE.” For as long as I live, I don’t think I will ever forget that powerful phrase.

Someone on the other side of the world was hurting and somehow they found me. That is, indeed, how I felt.

Interestingly, the idea of Googling for happiness, says so much about the age we live in. Most amazing is the fact that as far as we have come in the world of technology, our search for happiness is, seemingly, as primitive as ever. Our thirst for meaning is never-ending.

Perhaps, what is most important is the realization that, no matter what, we all need each other more than ever.

Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.”

I don’t know about you, but I’ll pass on edge, in-your-face, extreme and the like. Give me kindness. Give me human beings that are not afraid to ask for help. Give me respect for those who hurt around the world.

Give me an opportunity to reach out to someone wondering, “HOW FEEL BETTER IN LIFE.”
